The Tiara pocket sprung mattress may be purchased separately as well as part of a divan set. It will be supplied upholstered in fabric (ticking) TK509, but a wider choice of covers is available on request, or may be viewed in store. Mattress construction, fillings and upholstery The super king size Tiara mattress has 2720 pocket springs made from 1.42mm vanadium steel wire. Each spring, which measures 60mm diameter, is individually sewn into cotton calico pockets, and hand formed into a double layered honeycomb nested unit. The Tiara mattress is 23cm deep with three rows of genuine hand side-stitching and horizontal handles. With air vents on all sides, the border edges are upholstered with coir and wool and finished with piped ticking. Inside you will find 1000gsm bonded British fleece wool and cotton, then 1200gsm long-stranded white hair blended with wool enclosed in a hair proof cambric cover, overlaid with a layer of 1200gsm blended real Shetland Isle fleece wool and cotton. The mattress is finished with Belgian ticking and hand tufted with hand-tied woollen tufts and twine. (Gsm = grammes per square metre.) Manufacturer’s Recommendations As a bespoke manufacturer, Vi-Spring make general recommendations of mattress suitability based on body weight, but it is still a matter of personal preference. The manufacturer still recommends that you rotate the head and foot ends on a regular basis and occasionally flip them over to prolong the life of the product. Other things to consider If you purchase a mattress only, Vi-Spring wish you to consider the following to ensure you get the best night’s sleep… Never use a Vi-Spring mattress on an old worn out divan, bed base or spiral spring frame. Not only could you damage or at best shorten the life of the mattress, but you will also nullify the guarantee. Never use a Vi-Spring mattress on a slatted base where the gap between slats exceeds 6cm (2.5″). A mattress pad is also recommended, which will provide insulation between the mattress and the slats, and so minimise the effect of abrasion. Please ensure you have sufficient access to your chosen room. As part of our Premier Delivery Service your furniture will be unwrapped and placed in position by our professionally trained delivery team.
